Congratulations to the LabRoots’ 2021 Spring Scholarship Winner!
The LabRoots’ 2021 Spring Scholarship welcomed applications from students around the world, seeking support for research projects, travel expenses, and training supplies associated with their academic pursuits in one of the STEM fields. We would like to congratulate Beauty Kolade as this Spring’s scholarship winner!
Beauty Kolade is a first-year pharmacy student at the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical sciences. She serves as a Dean Student Ambassador, involved in promoting the school to prospective students. She enjoys volunteering at the American Red Cross during her spare time and also conducting research. She has worked as an undergraduate research assistant in a computational chemistry laboratory at Lehman College and held office as a Lehman Student Government Association Senator. She currently works remotely as a research assistant at Los Alamos National Laboratory and hopes to work as an industry pharmacist in the future.
A fun fact about Beauty is that she loves to draw and prior to pursuing a career in pharmaceutical sciences, she studied business management. She is currently a member of the Biophysical Society (BPS) where she presented a poster of one of her research projects at a recent BPS conference. She also is the social media coordinator of the Christian Pharmacists Fellowship International, a member of the Industry Pharmacists Organization at the University of Buffalo, and a volunteer with the American Red Cross.
” I am very grateful and honored to be a recipient of this scholarship. This scholarship will bring me one step closer to my goals of becoming a pharmacist and researcher. Thank you labroots for your assistance towards my career path and also for being a part of my educational journey. I hope to inspire and serve as a role model to younger generations interested in STEM.”Beauty
